Life is a long road with many turns that lead to all kinds of different places and along the way, it can be hard to be happy with where you may end up, which is why being humble and inquisitive can serve an individual well. As another traveler on this highway, I have developed a yearning for knowledge and experience through a pursuit of the future and an escape from the allure of nostalgia that has resulted in a love of life and all things in it.
No, not Hasselhoff!
Hi! I’m Taylor Kornhoff, I was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and raised in Decatur, Georgia. I am mixed, German/Irish, African-American and Filipino and currently I am an aspiring writer studying at Kennesaw State University, pursuing a Bachelor of the Arts in English with a focus in motorsports writing. Though I explored many different fields from engineering to commercial aviation, as the biggest part of this portfolio nothing has given me quite the satisfaction that English, and writing in particular, has presented to me. English has allowed my mind to wander and explore my inner creative side, which is important in the day-to-day. When not in my professional life at work and school, I am spending time with my family and friends. I meticulously maintain my car, gaining increased mechanical knowledge with every passing week and I often spend time at car events with fellow enthusiasts. I enjoy other circles as well, keeping in touch with my nerdier side, jamming to vaporwave and going to conventions and fan events. With friends I’ve put in many more hours into games and TV shows than I’d like to admit which compliments my more traditional side as an avid NASCAR-enjoyer. I’ve learned a lot from my life so far and I wouldn’t trade a thing and yet there’s so much more out there that I can’t wait to learn and explore.
Throughout my experiences on this long highway and through taking in the many influences in my life I have become a sum of all of my parts, here, there and everywhere in-between. Now come and take a ride with me through writing as I interpret this beautiful and grand collage we call life.
